(China).- Advantech announced the arrival of the DPX-SC710, a brand new gaming system based on the third generation of Advantech’s ConnectBus Architecture. It features a revolutionary cassette and backplane system for easy future upgrades and maintenance.

Full and rich gaming features like SATA, eSATA&C Fast storage interfaces, gaming security, multiple USB, and POST diagnostic solutions are supported on the mainboard cassette; whilst DVI, DP video interfaces, multiple USB, COMs, power input & output, and audio & gaming I/O ports are supported on the backplane. Advantech-Innocore compliant software API and libraries are also provided for simple integration. The system is based on the AMD R-Series embedded platform, and is designed to be the best cost/performance/power solution with 5+2 year life cycle support.

ConnectBus architecture for gaming focused machines

ConnectBus is the interface between the mainboard cassette and I/O backplane which physically uses two PCIe x16 type connectors but with totally different signal definitions. The cassette with the mainboard inside is very easy to insert and pull out from main chassis without using tools. The mainboard connects to the backplane through golden finger connections, and the backplane provides all of the I/O interfacing to the external wiring harness and peripheral hardware including the system power supply. All the external wiring harness connections are made on the backplane board allowing the modular CPU cassette to be installed quickly and accurately in the factory, and be efficiently upgraded or replaced in the field.

Multi-display with excellent graphics performance

The DPX-SC710 contains a completely integrated motherboard for gaming applications. Based on the 3rd generation of Advantech-Innocore’s ConnectBus backplane architecture, the DPX-SC710 offers un-paralleled ease of installation and field service. The board uses AMD’s high performance dual and quad core APUs with "Discrete-level Graphics". The chipset graphics (AMD Radeon HD7000 series) can output to 4 x independent monitors and supports DisplayPort 1.2. In addition, the MXM graphics card slot allows the DPX-SC710 to be fitted with a selection of discrete high performance graphics modules.

The MXM slot ensures the system is "future proof" and ready for the next generation of graphics technology. A full feature set of I/O and

COMs designed specifically for gaming devices is also included making the DPX-SC710 an ideal integrated platform for many high-end gaming, amusement and kiosk applications.
