(Australia, exclusive Yogonet.com).- Suren Khachatryan, chief executive of BetConstruct, talked about the company’s performance at the recent AGE, where it was the only sports betting focused operator on show. “BetConstruct will very much be looking at the regulatory changes in Australia,” he affirmed.

Did AGE 2014 meet your expectations?

BetConstruct is a company that focuses on sports betting for mostly online operators, as well as betting shops. We expected that the Expo would be dominated by land based casino solutions, and were the only sports betting focused operator on show. The traffic to our stand was by no means huge, but we managed to meet with a good number of prospective partners from Australia and the Far East. In addition, we met with a few 3rd party providers and learned about the regulatory and certification procedures in Australia that will no doubt help our future business.

What was the AGE show balance across all gaming verticals?

As mentioned, the show was dominated visually by the operators, like Bally and IGT,that focus on supplying land based casinos and arcades with table games and slots or fruit machines, what the Aussies call "pokies". There were also a number of smaller businesses that offered solutions for premises, large to small. These ranged from flooring to IT Infrastructure to catering.  BetConstruct seemed to be the only internet focused betting business provider.

How did visitors respond to your Sports Betting Terminal?

As you know, in Australia land based bet shops are operated by state monopolies. We spoke with a number of representatives of these companies and they expressed interest in our technology so response was positive.

What were the highlights for BetConstruct at AGE?

The crocodiles, snakes and owl from the Aristocrat stand were quite impressive, as well as the Delorean car and the characters from the Back to the Future films at the IGT stand.  Both additions seemed to work very well for these companies from a marketing perspective and gaining traction around their expo areas. The overall highlights for BetConstruct were meeting new people, both providers and operators in and around Australia. Plus, Sydney, even in the winter as a city to host an expo is second to none.

What are your future plans for this region?

BetConstruct will very much be looking at the regulatory changes in Australia. These could be to allow In-play or live betting via online and mobile, and would open up the market for our bespoke and state of the art technology to new and existing operators. We have plans to expand into the Far East and Australia, just as we are internationally over the past 12-months.

Did you acquire any new customers as a result of BetConstruct attendance at AGE?

We are in communication with many of the prospective partners we met at AGE, and will no doubt be launching them in the coming months.
