The new law will be applicable to matches and events in all sporting codes, with penalties of up to seven years in prison for those trying to illegally influence the outcome of an event.
The bill is being introduced ahead of the Cricket World Cup and Fifa U-20 World Cup, which will both take place in the country next year.
Before coming into law, the bill will need to be approved by the select committee. The government is hoping that it will be passed by the end of this year.
