(Portugal).- Adolfo Mesquita Nunes, Portugal’s Secretary of State, assured that regulated online gambling will be available in the country by the end of 2014. The parliament vote to approve online gambling now means that there is a 180 day window for law makers to construct a bill for online gambling along with tax rates, license application process and penalties for unlicensed operators offering their services in the country.

However European observers question the ability of the government officials to serve all the necessary legislation in time to make the end of year timeline and most believe that the first quarter of 2015 is more a realistic target.
