He was appointed as a new member of the five-man Facility Location Board alongside attorney Dennis Glazer earlier this month.
The board has received applications from 17 companies, which are competing for just four casino licences in three regions: Catskills and Hudson Valley, an area around Albany, and a strip that runs from Binghamton northwest to Lake Ontario.
The board is in the process of reviewing the submissions and is expected to confirm the successful applications later this year. “We will work diligently throughout the summer and fall to evaluate casino applications and ultimately reach decisions that provide the greatest benefit to the respective localities, regions and the entire state,” Law said.
Law was appointed president and chief executive officer of the Long Island Association in September 2010.
