(US).- 888 has decided to remove its social real money gaming app, Magic888, from Facebook following its struggle to profit in the highly competitive sector along with the impending UK governments point of consumption licensing & tax. The move comes only five months after the casino app went live on Facebook and serves as proof of how difficult it is t for operators to profit off social apps for real money.

However, another of 888’s real money apps on Facebook, Bingo Appy which has been hugely successful, will remain on the social media giant’s site.

The move by 888 makes the firm the latest operator to show how tricky it is to profit in the app real money gaming business. Gamesys also recently removed their Bingo and slots app and Big Fish Gaming completely left the Facebook app market.
