(US).- Slot Tech Magazine has announced a new program of regional slot tech classes for smaller casinos. “In order to serve the many, small-to-medium sized casinos that cannot come close to filling my maximum class size of 15, I have instituted a new Slot Tech Training program,” said magazine publisher, Randy Fromm.

“Moving forward, I will schedule a series of regional, four-day classes. Beginning in July at the Lode Star Casino in Ft. Thompson, South Dakota, I will hold these classes at a sponsoring casino and invite other slot techs to attend in order to fill the remaining places in the class that the sponsor cannot.”

The sponsoring casino need only provide meeting room space and guarantee six people for the class. Tuition is USD 795/person (inclusive of all classroom materials including textbook, digital multimeter, soldering iron and soldering supplies, sample components, etc.). Meals and lodging are the responsibility of the student.

“I believe this arrangement will work well for everyone involved,” commented Fromm. “The sponsoring casino saves the cost of transporting and housing their own slot techs. Those from other properties (those with, presumably, less than six techs or are lacking in meeting room
facilities) will now (finally!) have chance to attend a class where it just wasn’t possible previously.”

Following South Dakota, classes will be held in Shreveport, Louisiana (at Eldorado Casino) in August, Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino in September and Pinetop, Arizona (at HON-DAH Casino) in October.

A class in San Diego (home to Slot Tech Magazine) is in the works as well but that has not been finalized.

“I am wide-open to suggestions for future classes,” said Fromm, who also leads the training. “I suppose that if I’m going to hold a class at Lode Star Casino (REALLY remote. Check it out on Goggle Earth. It’s located precisely half way between the geographical center of the United States and the Canadian border) I’ll consider holding class just about anywhere I’m needed.”
