(Cambodia).- The government of Cambodia is drafting amendments to the law to entice big gaming companies from Macau and the United States to the country, the Phnom Penh Post reports. The newspaper quotes an official as saying the government is preparing legislation meant to attract bigger casino operators.

The official said the government was also drafting stricter, more transparent rules with a view to making online gambling legal.

Online betting is illegal in Cambodia, but it is growing. Many casinos facilitate online gambling with the tacit permission of local authorities.
