(US).- Some suggest that there may be a glut of casinos in the US, whether in Michigan or elsewhere in the country. That’s not stopping the Saulte Ste. Marie Chippewa Indian tribe from taking steps toward building two new casinos in the state. The first would be a 125,000 square-foot facility in Lansing. The other proposed casino would be in Romulus near the Detroit Metro Airport.
Representatives of the tribe sent land trust applications to the U.S. Department of the Interior last week, asking to take the property in trust. If that application is approved, the tribe will move ahead with construction.
