(Macao).- Macao’s government has promulgated the rules for the ban on smoking on casino gaming floors. The places where smoking is allowed must take up less than 50 percent of a casino’s gaming area.

The rules say that starting October 6 smoking will be allowed only in independently ventilated smoking rooms without gaming tables or slot machines, and in VIP gaming rooms.

An official says the government will urge casino operators to have consideration for staff that are prepared to work in VIP rooms.
