(Germany).- DRGT – the European distributor for Konami in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Northern Cyprus and Malta –has reported their latest success on behalf of Konami at the Casino Bad Homburg in Germany. This prestigious casino was one of the first casinos in the world and takes great pride in its slot machines.

Konami now belongs to the slot machine selection at Casino Bad Homburg. The initial trial with four single-game machines has been successful. The firm said that a total of four different games have captured the hearts of players, namely ‘African Diamond’, ‘China Shores’, Full Moon Diamond’ and ‘Egyptian Eyes’.

The German casino market is rather traditional and focuses mainly on the biggest brands. This makes it particularly difficult for newcomers. “It could be said that it was a risk to even try Konami”, admits Lutz Schenkel, Managing Director at Casino Bad Homburg. “Usually a newcomer’s slot machine is popular in the first few weeks then interest tails off. That is why most casino managers here choose what they know - based on past experience. The results of the Konami slots have been continually positive. They are sought-after by our customers so we made the natural choice to keep Konami on our floor. Konami quickly became popular and has remained so with our customers”.

The strong support DRGT offers makes a real difference. “The partnership we have with DRGT enables joint understandings of player needs. In this way games and cabinets can both be further developed and adapted to best fit to player preferences. This partnership with DRGT gives us the confidence to invest in Konami and expand our product offering”, Lutz continued.

Joost van Egeraat, Sales Director for DRGT, highlighted the importance of this success, “Many gaming machine manufacturers have tried to enter the German casino market. With over 70 casinos here, it is a key market in Europe. The fact that Konami has passed the trials and is now part of the gaming floor at Casino Bad Homburg will send a strong message to other casino operators in Germany. The door is now wide open to Konami for further success here in Germany”.
