What did you think of FADJA 2014 as far as its organization, standards, amount of visitors, business opportunities, etc?
From my point of view, the standard of this year’s FADJA show remained intact with new participants added to the show, such as Lottery and Interactive exhibitors. FADJA remains an essential meeting point for the industry in Colombia. At the organizational level it sets the standard for events in this category; the massive attendance of operators proves its strong position in this region. The results have been extraordinary, and we have reaffirmed our strong commitment to continue offering premium products at a competitive price with exceptional after-sales support and the reliability of GTECH’s leading portfolio.
How did visitors respond to the company’s products? What are the main features of the products presented?
Our new products at this year’s show included new game suites for our diverse multigame, such as Magnificent Magenta Deluxe, Incredible Indigo, Charmine Carmine and Fantastic Flame; furthermore, the launch of the first Action Jackpots the “4 in 1 multilevel multi-progressive” received an exceptionally positive response from operators, just as Egyptian Gold did last year.
Volcano Island received excellent feedback as well, despite already having been released in the country. On the casino systems side, our JP2go packaged jackpot solution was well received by operators as a great tool to boost slot floor performance with mystery progressives.
What is the potential of the Colombian market?
The Colombian market is one of the largest on the continent. The potential is enormous both in performance and growth, and there is currently a process of planning and regulation for both operators and manufacturers.
Indications from COLJUEGOS about the administration and management of this activity are very good, and reveal that there is a promising future ahead. An industry that has reached the volumes that Colombia has needs to organize itself to continue to grow.
In this context, Colombia can become, in the short term, the most important market and the best performer in the region, based on the above and on a strong, growing national economy.
What plans do you have for this and other markets of the Andean Region?
In Peru, we are busy working on our campaign, SPIELO Hot Friday, which celebrates the 18thanniversary of our offices in Latin America. We have prepared an exceptional showroom, and next Thursday, May 22nd and Friday May 23rd, our office doors will remain open for 48 hours with an unbeatable offer from our new portfolio. It will be the largest commercial offering: two full days of an offer that can be accessed in person or online by visiting: www.spieloeventoslatam.com.
