Camelot to restructure as CEO Dianne Thompson retires

In response to Thompson’s retirement, Camelot will now split into two clear functions that it said would ensure the “best possible platform for continued growth”.

Under this new structure, Andy Duncan will be promoted from his position of managing director to assume the role as chief executive officer of Camelot UK Lotteries (CUKL). Nigel Railton will move from his role as group chief financial officer and strategy director to become chief executive officer of Camelot Global Services.

Duncan and Railton will take up their new roles on October 31 and report directly to Lee Sienna, chairman of the Camelot Group. “Dianne Thompson’s contribution to Camelot and the worldwide lottery sector has been immense,” Sienna said. “She leaves a lasting legacy, with the group in the best possible position to build on her achievements.

“A vibrant and flourishing UK National Lottery will continue to remain at the very heart of Camelot’s operations, with the group also looking to add to its growing portfolio of interests outside of the UK. “In appointing two chief executive officers with the calibre and experience of Andy Duncan and Nigel Railton, there will be a seamless transition to the next chapter of Camelot’s history.”
