Manufactured in Reno, Nevada, the BC20 is born of a dedicated effort by IGT employees to revamp and optimize the company's supply chain and related processes.
Having in-house manufacturing in the USA enables IGT to control all aspects of the machine assembly and deliver superior product customization. As part of a re-shoring strategy that brought all BC20 manufacturing to IGT's Reno facility, the company has been rewarded with a 55 percent internal rate of return and 50 percent decrease in landed costs compared to the expense of outsourcing manufacturing abroad.
"We are extremely proud that IGT's new manufacturing and supply chain model has been recognized with the prestigious ML Award in the highly competitive Supply Chain Leadership category," said Matthew LaBranch, IGT VP Manufacturing Operations. "As the only gaming company to win an ML Award, we are honored to create and deliver a world class product 'made in the USA' that sets the industry standard for manufacturing efficiency. IGT remains focused on leading and transforming the casino gaming industry through innovation that matters."
The ML Awards program honors companies and individuals that are shaping the future of global manufacturing. In 2012, IGT won the Operational Excellence Award for its BC20 re-shoring project. For more information about IGT, visit IGT.com. Follow IGT at @IGTNews. Join the conversation at #IGTBlue.
