(US).- Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has named Russell Witt the company’s National Director of Tribal Development. In his role, Witt is responsible for strategic planning, initiatives, policies and procedures related to GLI’s Tribal Development team, which serves the needs of all Tribal gaming regulators and operators nationwide.

GLI President/CEO James Maida said, “We are thrilled to welcome Russell to GLI’s team of directors. For more than a decade, he has earned a reputation for excellence in testing, auditing and training, and his knowledge of Tribal gaming is virtually unsurpassed. We are confident in his ability to lead our Tribal development team to meet each customer’s unique needs and business goals.”

Witt brings a wealth of Tribal gaming, Class II compliance and technical standards knowledge to GLI. Most recently, he served as Director of Gaming Compliance for Video Gaming Technologies (VGT). He has also served as Director of Engineering and Field Services for BMM Compliance, and as Principal Technical Consultant to the National Indian Gaming Commission in drafting Class II technical standards.

“GLI has a 25-year history of dedication to Tribal gaming and to Tribal regulators. The company works very hard to earn regulators’ trust, and we do that by helping them identify and mitigate risk. We have a strong portfolio of gaming services and trainings to help empower Tribal regulators, including inspections and audits, and I will work closely with each of our clients to ensure they are getting the maximum benefit from their relationship with GLI,” Witt said.

Witt is considered an expert in many aspects of laboratory testing and consultation, including quality assurance testing; independent, state and Tribal testing laboratories; new market access; gaming regulations; product compliance; regulatory relationships; system and field audits; and internal and external compliance training.

Witt is widely recognized as a leader in Class II technical standards and internal controls, and he frequently provides trainings and participates in panel discussions on the subject at tradeshows and conferences throughout the country. He has been a contributing writer for Gaming & Leisure and Casino Enterprise Management magazines.
