(UK, exclusive Yogonet.com).- “At ICE we really wanted to give people an experience they wouldn’t forget,” said Neill Whyte, Head of Product Channels at Microgaming in an exclusive interview with Yogonet.com. The executive talked to us about the firm’s time at this year’s ICE and its future plans.

How would you define your experience at ICE 2014?
ICE is our biggest exhibition on the event calendar and this year’s was definitely one of our best to date! We showcased our largest ever stand, upheld the longstanding and popular tradition of the Microgaming Bar and had plenty to shout about in terms of announcements and news.

At ICE we really wanted to give people an experience they wouldn’t forget and that’s why we went all out with a series of jaw-dropping props that celebrate our most cherished gaming content. Firstly, we created an eye-catching scene in the boulevard with a seven metre animatronic dinosaur. This grand display celebrated the licensing agreement we have signed with Universal Partnerships & Licensing to produce online slot games centred on one of the biggest film trilogies in motion picture history, Jurassic Park. Due out later in the year, it’s going to be a rip-roaring game!
The Microgaming Bar was also full of mementos. The Terminator, an original Playboy Bunny suit, Batman and Bane’s original costumes from The Dark Knight Rises™ movie, Thor’s hammer from Thunderstruck and the door knocker from Immortal Romance created a museum like feel at the Bar. Not forgetting the best photo opportunity!

Props weren’t the only things on display. Our stand was full of screens, land-based machines, tablets, phones and even Smart Watches to demo our latest content and product features. This included the highly anticipated Avalon II online slot that went live on the second day of ICE and Immortal Romance Bingo, an exciting new bingo variant coming soon to operators.

What kind of innovations can we expect for the coming year?
We’ve got plenty up our sleeves for 2014. We’re all about forward-thinking and looking at what technologies will shape our industry in years to come. That’s why at ICE we unveiled our vision of the future. Augmented Reality, Smart Watches and Oculus Rift were all revealed in a purpose-built ‘Immersion Room’ on our stand. Operators and exhibitors congregated at the stand to get a glimpse of our vision. It’s early days, but it’s certainly an exciting sign of things to come!

What are your plans for the next months?
In the past month, we’ve announced a hat-trick of licensing agreements for 2014. As well as the Jurassic Park online slot that’s going live this summer, over the next few months, we will be launching Terminator 2 online slot.

And if that wasn’t enough, during the hustle and bustle of the first day of ICE we announced a licensing agreement for the award-winning and epic HBO® television series, Game of Thrones. The show’s intricate plot and fantastical themes will take centre stage in Microgaming’s adaptation, set to be released later this year. The show is incredibly popular and it will be an excellent addition to our already comprehensive selection of branded content titles!

It’s not only our Casino games that are growing in number; we’re continuing our commitment to deliver new mobile content on a monthly basis. Our collection of mobile games now exceeds 110 and will grow in size and strength throughout 2014. As you can see, our operators and their players have plenty to look forward to over the coming months!
