On the first day the attendees had quite a scare when a "dinosaur" which was roaming the event floor jumped on unsuspecting victims, part of a PR stunt.
There was good energy in the crowd and a very upbeat attitude overall, fuelled by the positive events in worldwide online gaming like the admittance of new online casinos, new partnerships, the rapid advancement of mobile gaming and the promising U.S. market. The event floor was packed with exhibits, bars and fun activities. A large focus was also given this year to networking during the conference, and the attendees enjoyed both an opening and a closing party.
Key online gaming issues discussed
The discussion revolved around key events and processes taking place in the world of online gambling nowadays. Most of the sessions dealt with the future of SEO, the regulation of the U.S. market, and effective affiliate programs via branding. A very interesting panel comprised a group of Bitcoin experts including Jon Matonis from the Bitcoin Foundation itself; the panel discussed the impact of the new virtual currency on the world of online gambling.
All in all LAC 2014 was a big success and it definitely set the bar for the year's upcoming online gaming events. The next iGB affiliate event is the Amsterdam Affiliate Conference, which will take place between 24th-27th June 2014 at the RAI in Amsterdam.
