(UK).-Betfair appointed Paul Cutter as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the third appointment to that position in the past five years.

Cutter arrives from BSkyB where he was the director of software engineering, and he is the firms third CTO in as little as five years.

He takes over the reigns held by Tony McAlister, the former IT executive at mobile network Vodafone, who had held the position since taking over from Rorie Devine in January 2009.

Cutter is a champion in lean and agile development, open source tools and cloud computing and worked at BSkyB for five years before making the jump to the betting exchange giants.
