(UK, exclusive Yogonet.com).- At the latest edition of ICE Matsui exhibited its full range of Casino Chips, Plaques and Wheelchecks. Dave Holt, Matsui Europe Managing Director, discussed this with Yogonet.com and the company’s future plans. “There are many positive signs for growth so will keep our fingers crossed for many new casino projects,” he said.

What were your expectations for ICE? Did you meet them?
We were expecting a busy show as always and it didn’t disappoint. From experience over previous years it fully met our expectations.

What products did you exhibit?
We exhibited our full range of Casino Chips, Plaques, Wheelchecks - especially our new Premier Decal Chip that is a mix between a chip and a plaque and which proved a very popular and eye- catching chip for the show. We also displayed our layouts and casino themed ashtrays, which always generate passing interest.

Did you launch any new products in London?
Yes, we presented the Decal Premier Chip and also our new range of Antique Stone and Sand Stone chips designed to give the casinos even more options from the Matsui range.

What do you feel next year holds for the industry?
There are many positive signs starting to appear across Europe. The UK especially has been very active and I’m sure will continue to be during 2014.

Why is it important for your company to exhibit in London?
Since we are the supplier to almost all of the UK casinos as well as many throughout Europe, and furthermore the show is a great opportunity to meet people we haven’t been able to get to see during the prior year.

How is the company positioned in Europe?
I feel we are in a strong position in the European market and that the Matsui Europe reputation has gone from strength to strength.

What are your main / biggest markets?
During 2013 we were very pleased to receive a large order for Grosvenor Casinos as well as Rainbow Casinos both in the UK and amongst many other who are using Matsui chips, so I would have say that for 2013 it would have been the UK market.

What are your future plans?
To continue to work with as many casinos as possible in our area to provide excellent quality chips at fair pricing.

What are your predictions for the gaming market in 2014?
Difficult to say but as mentioned there are many positive signs for growth so will keep our fingers crossed for many new casino projects.

What are your clients’ main concerns nowadays?
I would say security is never far from a casino’s concern. Fortunately we have a range of security methods in our chip production that can help with that concern.

How do you see gaming industry in general?
The gaming industry is a great and unique industry with many good people. After ten years working at Matsui Europe I’ve been privileged to work with many of them and I feel the industry has a very bright future.

Did you pick up on any trends at ICE?
We did see a number of visitors from certain parts of Europe as usual at ICE, which gives us an indication of what markets to look at in more detail during 2014.

Which if any new distribution or sales deals have you secured recently?
We were able to close a number of sales orders at the ICE show thanks to face to face discussions to finalise the details of customer’s orders.
