(Macau).- According to Telsey Advisory Group, revenue from VIP gaming made up only 60.6 percent of all gaming revenue in Macau last month, the least ever. It is expected that the proportion will keep contracting this year.

The reason is because more and more casinos intend to use a greater share of their tables for mass-market gaming and fewer for VIP gaming, in an effort to get the most out of their limited numbers of tables.

Telsey expects this shift to widen margins.

The Telsey report says VIP gaming revenue was 1 percent lower last month than a year earlier, while mass-market gaming revenue was 25.8 percent higher.
