Sparks Nugget casino begins USD 50 million renovation

(US).- A USD 50 million renovation project is underway at John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino Resort in the City of Sparks, in Reno, Nevada. The overall project will be done in a year, including a new sports book, bingo area and casino gambling pit on the first floor.
CEO Carlton Greer told the Sparks City Council Monday some work will be completed this summer. A western-themed Gilley's Saloon, Dance Hall & Bar-B-Que is scheduled to open in June. A new sports bar, deli and VIP lounge with slots should be ready by August.
The Reno-Gazette-Journal reports Greer told the council the new ownership is befitting of the Nugget's traditions as a "cornerstone of entertainment" in the community.
