(Canada).- Sportech has announced that its Racing and Digital division has been awarded a new contract to provide pari-mutuel tote wagering systems and services to the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, owner and operator of various racetrack and casino gaming venues in Canada.

Under the new deal, the Corporation will now benefit from Sportech's new teller-operated and self-service wagering devices, as well as a mobile wagering service that allows punters to bet on a smartphone or tablet while on track.

Sportech Racing and Digital already supports the Corporation's pari-mutuel wagering activities at the firm's racetracks and betting venues in British Columbia and Ontario, as well as through its digital wagering service from Sportech's Quantum Data Center in New Jersey.

Bruce Barbour, executive director, racing operations for Great Canadian Gaming, said: "We have been pleased with the reliability and performance of Sportech's wagering technology, and with the level of service we have received, and we look forward to implementing some of the new technologies Sportech has on the horizon."

Andrew Gaughan, president of Sportech Racing and Digital, added: "This new contract with Great Canadian Gaming extends an important relationship with a valued customer. "It not only provides more efficient wagering terminals, but also the opportunity to adopt new and emerging technologies, such as Sportech's Digital Link mobile wagering and digital voucher suite."
