The State Affairs Committee voted 10-1 for a measure that would put the proposal to a statewide vote on the November ballot.
Supporters say the added games are needed so Deadwood and tribal casinos can compete with casinos in other states. They say craps and roulette also attract a younger crowd than the current games.
The bill's only opponent, Dale Bartscher of Family Heritage Alliance, argues that gambling should not be expanded in South Dakota.
