(US).- American Gaming Systems (“AGS”)announced the appointment of David B. Lopez to the position President and Chief Executive Officer.  Upon Mr. Lopez’s appointment, Robert Miodunski will retire as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of AGS.

Mr. Miodunski has led AGS since July 2010 and has guided the company through a period of growth and expansion, culminating with the December 2013 acquisition of AGS by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, LLC.

“I want to thank Bob for his strong leadership and for leaving the company in an excellent position to take advantage of substantial growth opportunities,” said David Sambur, a partner at Apollo Global Management, LLC and a director of the holding company that owns AGS. “We are also excited and pleased to welcome David Lopez as CEO and we are confident that his diverse experience in gaming supply and his strong track record will take AGS to the next level.”

“I am very pleased that David Lopez will succeed me as CEO of AGS.  The company is uniquely positioned to benefit from David’s insight and expertise,” said Mr. Miodunski. “I am confident that David is well prepared to guide the company’s strategy going forward.”

In joining AGS, David Lopez said, “I am excited about this compelling opportunity and look forward to working with our employees, suppliers and customers to transform AGS into a formidable gaming supplier.  I’d also like to thank Bob Miodunski for positioning the company for success and future growth.”

Mr. Lopez most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Cash Access (“GCA”), and, prior to his role at GCA, as Chief Operating Officer of Shuffle Master Inc. During his 14-year tenure with Shuffle Master, Mr. Lopez held various positions within the organization, including Interim CEO, Executive Vice President, President of the Americas, Vice President of Product Management, as well as serving as a member of its Board of Directors.

Mr. Lopez’s appointment will require him to file gaming applications with the appropriate jurisdictions where AGS is licensed.
