The economic impact is based on purchases and salaries and wages for more than 350 construction workers. The renovation is also expected to create another 90 permanent positions within the resort.
"We set out to transform the lobby and restaurants into focal points for guests to come into our grand entrance and say, 'wow,'" says Patrick Murphy, Pechanga Development Corporation President. "Judging by the thousands who have already come in and taken photos in the new space, we hope we have achieved that objective."
"When a company as committed as Pechanga to giving visitors an experience they come back for again and again does something as big as a multi-million dollar remodel, it has a nearly immediate effect on other visitor-based businesses – wineries, hotels, restaurants and shops," says Ken Westmyer, Temecula Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau chairman.
Pechanga Resort & Casino's massive undertaking started September 3, 2013.
Designers envisioned and Pechanga utilized the highest level of finishes and quality materials – rich mahogany, espresso-finished wood cabinetry and more. Guests can watch two 84-inch 4K Ultra high definition flat panel TV screens upon check-in. Manufacturers of the equipment say no other resort currently utilizes this technology.
Resort officials employed ecologically friendly practices wherever possible through the renovation.
Stamped concrete flooring was recycled and replaced with responsibly sourced marble. Lobby furnishings were repurposed. The ceiling in the new Sundry shop was fabricated from recycled aluminum.
