November revenue up 27 percent for Atlantic City

(US).- Revenue was up 27 percent for November in happier news for Atlantic City, raking in 224.7 million of dollars, the Press of Atlantic City reported. That compares to 176.6 million of dollars in gambling revenue last November, when the resort’s 12 properties were dealing with the after effects of Hurricane Sandy and had to shut down casinos.

Revenue has now been up two months in a row for the first time since 2006, the Press of Atlantic City noted. Table game winnings were us$ 60.3 million, up nearly 20 percent over a year ago. Slot machine revenue registered us$ 164.4 million, up 30 percent from 2012.

November’s data does not include revenue figures from Internet gambling, which launched with soft play on November 21. Six casinos were approved to go live on November 26. All online gambling data from November and December will be reported in January, DGE has said.
