Holland Casino selects Playtech for online gambling

(Netherlands).- Dutch gambling monopoly Holland Casino has selected Playtech to be its online casino software supplier in advance of the regulation of online gambling in the country. Under the deal, Playtech will develop an online platform for Holland Casino, which will include roulette, blackjack, slot machines, poker and bingo.
Playtech was selected by Holland Casino following a competitive tender process. “We will soon offer our players a unique gaming environment and experience,” Holland Casino’s interim chief executive officer, Willem-Jan van den Dijssel, said. “Coupled with the expertise of Playtech, we look forward with confidence to the forthcoming regulation of the market.”
Regulators are currently in the process of working on a law to regulate online gambling, with the first proposal expected in the first half of 2014.
The first licences are likely to be awarded by 2015 at the earliest.
