(UK).- Gaming group Gala Coral has sold the last of its UK casinos to Double Diamond Gaming, ending its involvement in the UK casino business. The sale of the company’s Gala Casinos arm to the Rank Group in May excluded four casinos in Aberdeen, Bristol, Cardiff and Teesside, following a Competition Commission ruling.

These locations - along with a “cold” casino licence in Dundee - have been acquired for an undisclosed sum by Double Diamond Gaming, an independent casino operator that owns the Rainbow Casino in Birmingham.

The sale marks the end of Gala Coral’s casino interests in the UK as the company pursues its strategy to focus on core operations, sources of the firm said.
