(Netherlands).- Novomatic acquired Loontjens arcade chain in the Netherlands. Additional information suggests a purchase price of around 20 million euros for the nine arcades, but it includes a substantial street operation. Loontjens will be the first incursion into the Dutch operating industry by Austria’s giant group.

With AWP machines in locations other than arcades in the Netherlands totalling around 19,000, the Novomatic holding is now a high percentage of that, probably 4,000, having recently bought the Pierre de Jonge operation.

A new Loontjens arcade – the 10th – was due to be opened in Den Helder today. Loontjens is one of the oldest operating companies in the country and has locations mainly around the Dutch coast, at Den Helder, Goes, Haamstede, Hulst, Middelburg, Ouddorp, Renesse, Sluis and Vlissingen.
