(Argentina, exclusive Yogonet.com).- Tracey Chernay, Executive VP - Global Casino, Gaming and Lottery, spoke to Yogonet.com about the recent SAGSE show. She commented on the firm’s performance and the products it exhibited, and talked more generally about the markets where TransAct operates.

How was SAGSE 2013 for TransAct?
The 2013 SAGSE show remains a very important part of our South American strategy.  SAGSE gives TransAct an outstanding opportunity to meet all our customers at one central location and showcase our award-winning EPICENTRAL Print System - the software system that allows casinos to market to their players directly at the slot machine.

How do you feel Argentina’s current import restrictions effected the companies and products at the show?
Current import regulations make it more challenging to get new products and parts into Argentina.  However, our customers have all commented on how thrilled they are that the reliability of the Epic 950 eliminates the need to import parts for repairs.

How do you see the Argentine industry shaping up for the short to medium term?
Unless current laws change, we will continue to see the gaming market struggle with bringing new products to market.

What Latin American markets have greater growth potential for you and why?
Argentina, Peru and Uruguay have proved to be the best areas for growth. EPICENTRAL, used in conjunction with the reliable Epic 950, greatly expands the capabilities of the slot machine printer.  With the printer no longer used solely for printing TITO tickets, our solutions can truly separate casinos in a highly competitive market by allowing for bonusing/ couponing at the machine.

As 2013 draws to a close, what have been the highs and lows for the gaming industry this year?
The year has been a very good one for the entire industry, with new openings in the USA and market growth in Europe, Latin America and Asia.  For TransAct it has been an extraordinary year.  We’re closing 2013 with at least 8 Epicentral installations worldwide and a new distribution agreement with Suzo Happ.
