It is thought that the next few years will see a huge growth in the mobile poker industry. However, the head of poker operations at PartyPoker, Jeffrey Haas, believes that mobile players play in a different way to those who play from desktop machines. He thinks that mobile players are often distracted by outside influences which lead to them playing shorter sessions with larger stakes.
Haas has predicted that by the end of 2014 over a quarter of poker bets will be made via mobile and grow substantially year after year. Speaking recently at the World Poker Tour National series event in London, Haas said 典oday we have 4 per cent of our user base on mobile, but I see it growing. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s 25 to 30 per cent of all players by the end of 2014, if not more.媒
PartyPoker recently updated its iOS application and the group now offers apps for iPad, iPhone and Android users. They also have an HTML application for users of other mobile devices.
