DAY 1

08:30 hs. – Breakfast and accreditation

9:00 hs. – Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): Keys to making secure and reliable decisions when renewing the slots theme

Casino operators must decide how to evaluate each of the slots in their gambling hall, as well  as determine the value of the machines they wish to acquire. Evaluating the investments in new equipment is a complex task, and each operator should consider the machine economy from the TCO approach (Total Cost of Ownership). Factors included in TCO assessments for slot machines include the cost of the cabinet and the price of software, but there are other, hidden expenses which must be calculated and measured against revenue generated/game performance. Only when the full picture is considered can an operator make a truly educated and fiscally responsible purchase and retention decision.

Speakers:

- Eduardo Aching (Konami, Vice President International)

- Sebastián Salat (WMS Gaming, President International)

- John Connelly  (Bally, Vice President, Business Development)

Moderator: César Augusto Dechat (Trilenium Casino, Slot Manager)

10:30 hs. – Slots: How to take advantage of the player preferences to attract his attention

Theory has it that players usually choose a machine and game theme that they can identify with, that tie in somehow to their existing awareness and preferences Here we will explore this notion and the best strategies to help the operator to expand players’ universe.

Speaker:

- Robin Loyed (Global Operator Marketing, IGT)

11:45 hs. – Key import and export considerations in Argentina

Amid an uncertain political climate and centralized government, the challenges facing companies that are reliant on imports for their business are significant. The DJAI – the local abbreviation of an onerous set of requirements for information with which importers have had to comply since 2012 – is a bureaucratic headache.  But it’s just the tip of the iceberg. Along with the DJAI comes more red tape and administrative obstacles designed to hinder importation, making it harder still for manufacturers to access the components they need for their products.

That is why it is important to properly understand and keep pace with the changing requirements of the authorities, and to know what the mechanisms and tools are at our disposal to operate as effectively as possible within the law.

Speaker:

- Cristián Galarza (CEO, ASAP Comercio Exterior)

12:45 hs. – What and how much information do we need to take the right decision on our gaming operation

In the “Information Age” in which we find ourselves the means to collect customer data have proliferated, with obvious applications and relevance to the gambling industry. But, of all the information available, what is the most important, reliable or necessary for decisions on the future of our gambling venue? The analyst and specialist in information, Andrew Cardno, inventor of more than 60 patents, winner of two Smithsonian awards and consultant of international companies such as Harrah’s Entertainment, IGT, Trump Entertainment Resort, Best Buy, Wall-Mart and Penn National Gaming, will deliver a compelling talk on the matter, focusing on the dilemma of quantity vs quality of  information in decision-making.
