(Netherlands).- An audit is underway following a joint operation carried out by Kansspelautoriteit, the Dutch Gambling Authority, and the Police at four catering establishments in the Netherlands.

The audit specifically focuses around the time of Champions League Football events where betting is traditionally higher and the Kansspelautoriteit said that the providers of the illegal games played on computers face stiff fines, the amount of which will be determined by the severity of the offence.

“In extreme cases this can lead to a fine of Euro 780 000 or higher,” a statement said.
