Tell us about the products you presented at G2E.
This year has seen us launch a wide range of products and among these, in particular, is Selection, a multigame that our customers have been asking for a long time. Another interesting game that we’are launching soon, and on display at G2E, is Dragon’s Victory, a 4-level progressive with dragon themes. We are very optimistic it will be successful as its predecessors. We have also launched Podium Goliath, a larger version of the firm’s industry leading Podium cabinet; with this operators are sure to increase their investment return. Very successful so far in America and the Caribbean, we plan to roll it out in Europe and other areas.
What products do you think will resonate most in Latin America?
For sure the multi-game Selection, because of how interesting the solution is. We are very optimistic, because the operators that saw it liked it a lot, as well as Dragon´s Victory, because it is a stand-alone progressive very similar to the previous ones.
Can you give us any teasers for the products on show at SAGSE Buenos Aires?
They’ll be the same products as at G2E, and once we arrive there, approvals will be ready. Without doubt the key products on display will be Selection, Podium Goliath and Dragon´s Victory.
Which are the most important international markets for Konami?
The Caribbean grew a lot this year, due to the fact that the American economy has improved.. In Latin America, Mexico is a very important market, and for us, of course, Uruguay is also highly important. Unfortunately, in Argentina I think the problem with importation affected us all, and in Chile, the anti-tobacco law also affected our business.
And what about Asia?
We are starting right now, it is an untapped market for us. We have already received the first approvals this week and are in negotiations with several customers with a view to installing our products there.
Where does Konami stand on online gaming?
We have a business area dedicated to it, and indeed only a few days ago, we announced that we are entering iGaming through agreements with other companies. We are very optimistic, because we are confident we will offer a very attractive solution for operators.
