The GGW Keynote Luncheon will feature Gail Evans, the best-selling author of Play Like a Man, Win Like a Woman, a book that has grown to be one of the most influential works about women in the workplace since its 2001 release. Evans’ career began in government and culminated in her role as executive vice president of CNN. She will offer attendees an entertaining and insightful look at her “playbook for success.”

• At its annual networking breakfast, titled “Building Mentorships: The Global Gaming Network,” GGW will unveil its all-new online mentoring tool, Global Gaming Network. Developed in conjunction with SHFL entertainment, it allows women across the international gaming industry to build mentoring relationships. The breakfast will feature a live demonstration of the site.

• There will also be three GGW-sponsored conference sessions at G2E. “First Look: The Development and Advancement of Women in the Gaming Industry” (Wednesday, Sept. 25, 9:15-10:15 a.m., Titian 2204) will discuss new research commissioned by GGW looking into development initiatives that drive more women in executive and management positions. Hilary McClain and Chris Richards of McClain Resources, will report on their findings. Virginia McDowell, president and CEO of Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. and GGW co-chair, will moderate. Additional sessions will focus on how to hone better listening skills in business and the value of affinity groups.
• The 4th annual Kick Up Your Heels Fundraising Reception is the industry’s preeminent gathering of female gaming executives. It is sponsored by the International Gaming Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and American Casino & Entertainment Properties. Proceeds from the event benefit the GGW Charitable Education Fund, which provides continuing education scholarships to women in the industry.
