(Chile).- Representative of Los Lagos region, Carlos Recondo, said that the idea is that casino license, as occurs with Puerto Varas, extends for 15 years once the tender concludes in 2015.

Recondo assured that city councils are very worried with this situation and that it is necessary that the government is “more transparent” on the matter. He also asked the state to announce how will it attend this motion so casinos such as Pucón, Puerto Varas, Viña del Mar, among others, do not enter in a general regime in 2015.

The legislator asked to clarify the issue as soon as posible to end with the uncertainty of several mayors, reiterating that 15 years of extension would be positive to see how the system is reorganized.

Besides, the legislator explained that, in case the license does not extend, a series of problems would be generated at the councils that count with casinos, starting with money loss that is destinated to public treasury.

Finally, Recondo remarked that he has spoken about the issue with several mayors, who are really worried because they cannout count on that amount of money in the future.
