(US).- Leading social casino brands that include Zynga, Gamesys and Caesars Interactive as founding members have formed the International Social Gaming Coalition (ISGC) under the leadership of former Facebook European policy manager, Luc Delany, and Playstudios COO and co-founder, Paul Mathews.

The association which was established by DoubleDown/IGT, Caesars Entertainment, PlayStudios, Plumbee, RocketPlay, Zynga, GameSys and Aristocrat MGM was officially launched at the Global iGaming Summit & Expo held in San Francisco this week.

The association strives to educate players on the free-to-play aspect of social gaming as well as provide a strong voice as it becomes integrally involved with the debate surrounding social regulation with regulators and governments.  It will also drive the development of a best practice set of standards for the industry covering player protection and customer service.

The ISGC is looking to merge with the Social Gaming Association (SGA) formed late last year by former Sportingbet counsel Stuart Tilly, Mathews told SGi in an interview: “We will look to work with the SGA and will sort out the confusion as to what we each do in due course,” he explained. “At the moment it is unclear whether the organisations will remain separate, but this will be resolved in the coming months.”
