(US).- Legislation proposed by Mike Huval was approved by a vote of 62 to 22 by the Louisiana House of Representatives, and is now awaiting the attention of the state Senate.

If approved, the legislation would see the Louisiana House of Representative’s Criminal Justice Administration Committee work with the Judiciary B Committee of the Louisiana Senate “to study the feasibility and practicality of authorising internet gaming in Louisiana”. The findings would be reported before next year’s first legislative session.

This news comes alongside a string of states testing the online gambling water. Despite Nevada being the first state to legalise online poker in February this year, proposals in both Massachusetts and Illinois have recently failed to gain support.
