In the press release, the company points out that “due to a whole series of imprecise news media versions, Codere Group wants to clarify:
That the Group is in a renegotiation process of its debt at a global level, with its main creditors, due to the conjunction of a complex series of causes that came up in several of its business units.
That this fact is certainly not due to the impossibility of repatríate benefits from the Argentine venue, as some media have reflected.
That the prohibition of smoking in Argentina, as well as it occured in many other countries in which the company is present, has affected its results significantly.
That they do not have intention to abandon the country or sell their assets there, and trust completely in the future of the Argentine Republic, as it shows the decisión to renovate voluntarily all its licenses in the Province of Buenos Aires.
That it maintains and will keep on maintaining an excellent relationship with the authorities of the National, Regional and Local Governments in which it operates and collaborates with its active Corporate Social Responsibility programs.
That, as the first Spanish public gaming company, will continue being an example of professionalism and transparency in all the markets in which it develops its activity.”
This way, the firm denied several news versions that, in recent days, said that the gaming operator could leave the country, and connected that decision (denied once again by the company), to the measures that the National Government took to limit the outflow of capitals abroad.
