When will WSOP.com for real money go live?
We don’t have a launch date determined yet, but we expect it will be at some point this summer (3rd quarter of calendar year)
How much will it take? What requirements do you have to meet yet?
We intend to be in this business 100 years from now and as such are taking our time to ensure once we turn our site on that we will remain on. There are a bunch of boxes to tick off to make sure we have all the bases covered. It shouldn’t be too much longer.
What can you anticipate us about WSOP.com's offer for real money?
First, we will only be in Nevada when we launch, because that is only place it is legal at the moment for us to be. But we expect to offer a very robust offering to meet the varied wishes of our expected customer base. If the land-based business we operate has taught us anything, it is that a variety of buy-in levels, games and promotions are all key to fulfilling the demand. We expect to have terrific promotions and offerings that our players will get tremendous value from.
Are you planning to launch a mobile app too?
The regulations for Nevada don’t allow mobile gaming yet, so we are unable to do so at this time.
What will set you apart from the competitors?
The WSOP name is the biggest and richest brand in poker that has been around for 44 years. We will certainly play up this advantage and combine it with Caesars Entertainment’s industry-leading customer loyalty program to offer players a first-class, first-rate product with plenty of promotional value and cross-marketing to our land-based properties and events. We know we have work to do to prove ourselves in the online space and will work hard and diligently to deliver what players want, when they want it.
In your opinion, how will real money online gaming evolve in US? How will Caesars Interactive Entertainment continue to contribute with the growth of this industry?
We do believe it will evolve just like it did in the land-based arena for the past several decades. It will eventually be widespread throughout the U.S. with fierce competition leading to many innovations and opportunities for players to choose from and participate in.
