The castle was built in neo-gothic and medieval style in the 19th century by Margrave de la Romana and is a true jewel on the popular holiday island.
“We are planning a first-class resort with casino and luxury hotel as well as an extensive event programme at these extensive parklands with its castle in its centre. This will be a centre of appeal near and far,” explained Rolf Falke, spokesman of the management at Merkur International, a subsidiary of the Gauselmann Group.
The application was submitted in due time on Monday 29th April 2013. The planned investment sum for the project is about 10 million euros. “We are sure that we will convince the licensor of our plans for sophisticated quality tourism. Furthermore, if granted the licence, then approximately 200 new jobs will be created,” concluded Rolf Falke.
