“Crossed bets” would be allowed again

(Spain).- After the changes performed in Spanish legislation with regard to betting, many people opted by abandon completely the sportsbooks because many of their interesting functionalities have disappeared.

(Spain).- After the changes performed in Spanish legislation with regard to betting, many people opted by abandon completely the sportsbooks because many of their interesting functionalities have disappeared.

However, the government communicated that it is already working on a law that allows to return to “crossed bets”, it means, those in which players had the chance to bet against other players, having the chance to cover the winnings based on retiring in the right momento, betting against the bet made at the beginning.

In its website, the Spanish regulatory authority, (Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego) DGOJ (http://www.ordenacionjuego.es/es/art-apuestas-cruzadas-maquinas-recreativas) communicates that it considers appropriate to rule “crossed bets” games and “online gaming recreational machines”. “The normative proceedings of both types of gaming will be held consecutively, starting in first place the one corresponding to crossed bets and, then, for online gaming recreational machines”, it assures.
