(US).- Scientific Games announced that it has been selected with its partners as the primary vendor team to operate Internet Gaming Systems including poker, slots and bingo and services for the Delaware State Lottery, subject to successful contract negotiations.

Scientific Games teamed with 888 Holdings and Williams Interactive, a wholly owned subsidiary of WMS Industries, to provide a full turnkey solution for the gaming platform, content, and operational services using advanced responsible gaming tools and sophisticated player tracking, in response to the Delaware State Lottery's Internet Gaming System and Services request for proposal (RFP). The RFP includes internet poker, casino table games and video lottery games.

This joint effort combines 888's decade-long experience being at the forefront of the online gaming industry with Scientific Games' proven ability to provide added value, turnkey solutions to government-sponsored (B2G) and commercial (B2B) gaming operators and Williams Interactive's premium iGaming products and services.

The Lottery evaluation committee's recommendation followed a competitive selection process designed to identify service providers best suited to serve the needs of the Delaware Lottery.  The contract will be for an initial term of five years and includes four additional one-year contract extension options.

Delaware became the first US state to implement comprehensive intrastate iGaming including poker, slots and bingo when the General Assembly passed the Delaware Gaming Competitiveness Act of 2012 in June 2012. Delaware has long been an industry model for state regulated gaming. This is another example of the state's leadership in protecting state-sponsored gaming rights to maximize proceeds for its citizens.  The Delaware Lottery will be the sole regulator of real-money internet gaming for the State with the games branded and marketed through the State's three casinos. The State plans to launch Internet games this year.

Lotteries are increasingly pursuing opportunities to develop additional revenue sources for their good causes. This joint effort to support the Delaware Lottery's expansion into internet gaming is a prime example of the synergies that can be achieved by Scientific Games' pending acquisition of WMS, as previously announced on January 31, 2013. Completion of the transaction remains subject to approvals by WMS stockholders and gaming regulatory authorities and other customary closing conditions.
