Maryland casinos generate us$ 58 million during March

Hollywood Casino Perryville generated us$ 9,486,110.07 from both slot machines and table games in March. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: us$ 225.37 for slot machines, us$ 3,659.33 for banking table games and us$ 1,296.94 for non-banking table games.

In a year-to-year comparison, Hollywood Casino's March 2013 revenue decreased by us$ 4,238,066.17 or 34.57% from March 2012. Hollywood Casino Perryville operates 1,148 machines and 20 (12 banking and eight non-banking) table games. The facility debuted its table games on March 6, 2013.

The Casino at Ocean Downs generated us$ 3,948,739.04 in March, and its gross gaming revenue per machine per day was $159.22. The Casino at Ocean Downs' March 2013 revenue decreased by us$ 130,622.29 or 3.2% from March 2012. The Casino at Ocean Downs operates 800 machines.

Maryland Live Casino generated us$ 44,613,545.21 in March, and its gross gaming revenue per machine per day was us$ 348.55. Maryland Live operates 4,129 machines. In a year-to-year comparison - excluding Maryland Live, which opened in June 2012 - March 2013 casino revenue decreased from March 2012 by us$ 4,368,688.46 or 26.74%. The addition of Maryland Live, however, brought a year-to-year net benefit to the state of us$ 27,946,115.57.

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission is responsible for all matters relating to regulation of the state's casinos. In this regulatory role, the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency oversees all internal controls, auditing, security, surveillance, background investigation, licensing and accounting procedures for the facilities.
