(Spain).- Spanish group Cirsa Gaming has announced a 4% year-on-year increase in annual operating income to 1.8 billion euros. The Barcelona-based company said that its operating profit for the twelve-month period grew by 11%, to 322 million euros, helped in part by the “favourable evolution of Latin American economies.”

Joaquim Agut, General Director for Cirsa Gaming, said: “Once again the consistent implementation of our strategy, the capacity of our management and the involvement of all staff of the company to achieve the established targets even in the current economic environment has brought a significant improvement in results over the previous year."

For 2013, Cirsa Gaming declared that it intends to continue its strategy of ‘consolidating and improving the profitability’ of its concerns in Spain and Italy in addition to those spread throughout Latin America despite current economic conditions remaining ‘difficult and complex’.

To do this, it proclaimed that it will implement further efficiency and productivity programmes and combine these with selective investment executed ‘with the utmost rigour’.
