(US).- IGT has received ISO 9001:2008 recertification from SGS International Certification Services for its Quality Management Systems and ISO 17025 reaccreditation through the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for its Reno, Nevada-based Global Technology & Interoperability Center.

The ISO 9001:2008 certification represents an expanded scope from the company's previous recertification in 2010. The scope now includes IGT's Europe IGT's Quality Management Systems as well as IGT Systems organizations. In addition to the Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada campuses, the recertification includes offices in Bozeman, Mont., and Hoofddorp, Netherlands.

"IGT's ISO recertification is central to the Company's global production and sales efforts because it signifies our commitment to manufacturing excellence, demonstrating efficiency in processes, product design and development efforts, as well as customer satisfaction levels," said Matt LaBranch, IGT vice president of Manufacturing Operations. "Our dedication to our Quality Management System ensures that our customers receive top-of-the-line products."

Implementing ISO 9001:2008 enables continuous improvement of IGT's quality management systems and processes. IGT's Quality Management Systems, along with the design, development and manufacturing processes, have been objectively evaluated and meets worldwide standards for product and process consistency as well as continuous improvement. ISO 9001:2008 certification is valid for three years. In order to maintain certification, IGT must successfully complete extensive external evaluation to ensure ongoing conformity to the international ISO standards.

IGT's ISO 17025 reaccreditation through A2LA enables the Company to certify IGT products according to the Gaming Standards Association (GSA) protocol standards. Products that meet the GSA's Protocol Certification Program requirements are certified for consistency in G2S, S2S, GDS and Transport protocol implementation, which is critical to success in a system-linked environment.

IGT's GTIC is a premiere testing facility and is open to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), strategic partners, and system integrators to test the compatibility of GSA protocol-based solutions with IGT games and systems. The state-of-the-art gaming test facility has worked with a number of gaming vendors, including but not limited to Bally, Aristocrat, Konami, WMS, VGT, Agilysys, Micros and Dallmeier.

"The gaming industry realized we must work together to achieve interoperability to meet our customers' demands" said Allen Liu, IGT GTIC manager.  "We welcome all gaming manufacturers to test their products that use GSA protocols with IGT systems such as sbX and Advantage at the GTIC."
