(US).- Wynn Resorts said that it would defend itself “vigorously” against the amended lawsuit by a Louisiana police fund. Michael Weaver, Wynn’s Senior VP of Marketing in Las Vegas said: “This is simply an attempt to recycle a complaint that was previously dismissed by a federal judge. We will defend vigorously and expect it to meet the same fate as its predecessor – dismissal.”

The Louisiana Municipal Police Employees’ Retirement System’s filing to a US district judge in Las Vegas characterised the May 2011 donation of us$ 135 million to the University of Macau as “improper” and “potentially illegal”.

The fund renewed the claim this month after Judge James Mahan in Las Vegas dismissed the first lawsuit in February. Wynn Resorts is the parent company of Macau-based gaming operator Wynn Macau.
