The urban casino development opened to the public on March 4, 2013, and is expected to attract an estimated six million visits to downtown Cincinnati annually.
Ensuring that these six million customers have a comfortable spot to sit, play and relax was and is a top priority of the casino, thus, its management tapped industry leader Gasser Chair Company to manufacture its 2,907 gaming chairs and 1,470 banquet chairs.
This was the second contract between the casino’s owner and developer, Rock Ohio Caesars and Gasser Chair Company in the past year, as Gasser provided nearly 2,900 chairs for the casino’s sister property, the Cleveland Horseshoe Casino, which opened in May 2012.
“When Ohio finally passed casino gambling, we knew we definitely wanted to be a part of the milestone and were excited about the opportunity to partner with the Horseshoe team and see our work so close to home,” said Christine Dravis, account manager at Gasser Chair Company. “Due to the exceptional quality of the chairs we manufactured for the Cleveland property and the positive feedback they’ve received from their customers, Horseshoe contracted with us again to supply the seating for its Cincinnati project. It is definitely a testament to the superior quality, craftsmanship and customer service our team strives for.”
Gasser’s gaming history stems from a 1960s meeting between George Gasser, co-founder of Gasser Chair Company, and Bill Harrah, founder of Harrah’s Casino, when George loaned Bill 10 chairs to place at slot machines, a game traditionally played standing up. The two discovered the longer a gambler stays in a chair, the more likely he or she is to continue playing. Today, the casino industry ranks as Gasser Chair Company’s largest single-niche market and Gasser chairs can be found in casinos throughout the world.
