(US).- Maryland Live brought in more than us$ 38.3 million in revenue in February - a new record by us$ 2 million - despite a shortened month and the temporary removal of 700 VLT to accommodate table games. In all, state casinos brought in us$ 47.8 million, the second-highest amount since last July, which was Maryland Live's first full month of operations.

All but us$ 15.8 million of the money brought in by casinos went back to the state.
Hollywood Casino in Perryville generated a little less than us$ 6 million, representing a drop of 48 percent year-over-year. The Penn National-owned casino will be the first in Maryland to offer table games later this week. The state's first casino, Hollywood received permission to decrease the number of VLTs it operates from 1,500 to 1,148 and has requested to scale back to 1,000.

Ocean Downs, outside of Ocean City, brought in us$ 3.5 million, representing a 1.68 percent decrease from February 2012.

Maryland Live in Hanover, which operates 24 hours a day, generated about us$ 302 from each of the 3,991 machines it is currently using (though the number of machines fluctuated throughout the month), while Hollywood made only us$ 185.59. Hollywood will begin full-day operation Thursday when it opens 20 table games to the public. Ocean Downs made about us$ 155 from each of its 800 machines.
