(Chile).- Yesterday (February 28th), it came into force the anti-smoking law in Chile. The norm comprises all closed spaces -of public or commercial access- unless it has terraces between a pair of walls and a canopy roof.

The smoking ban in public spaces was informed in all Chilean casinos yesterday at 23.50 p.m. through a loudspeaker, to all the bettors in roulettes, slots and gambling tables.

The abrupt transition had another difficulty: it surprised all the tenants on a Friday, when gambling venues have more quantity of visitors, which increases the chance of being fined in case customers do not comply with the new legislation.
